We love celebrating milestones and 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of Hill Investment Group! When our firm was founded June 6th of 2005 it was based on friendship, vision and passion. Rick Hill and I met every Wednesday night and Saturday morning for a year. We would discuss building the perfect firm, one we called “the island of idealism.” We are grateful you have joined us in taking the long view and are as committed to serving you as ever.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just pre-ordered copies of Carl Richards’ newest book, The One-Page Financial Plan. It’s an incredibly practical guide to making decisions about money—we think you’ll enjoy it. We will give all of our clients a copy as our summer reading recommendation for 2015 as soon as they’re available. Check your mailbox before you check out for your travel this summer.

A note to our clients: Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) has a proxy vote underway for shareholders of certain funds that requires participation. We encourage you to submit your votes by signing and returning the paper materials mailed to your home, and if you’re unable to do so, a third-party proxy facilitator will reach out to you over the phone beginning in April.

The board members for DFA’s funds (most of whom are not affiliated with DFA) are responsible for protecting your interests as a shareholder and believe that these proposals are in the best interests of shareholders. They recommend that you vote in favor of the proposals.
