Nell’s rare combination of technical ability and interpersonal instincts makes her an indispensable member of the team. As HIG’s first COO, Nell has played a pivotal role in building on the organic magic that used to live in Matt and Rick’s heads. Today, the firm runs on a reliable set of systems, second nature to Nell and now to HIG.

As HIG’s Head of Business Development, PJ has been instrumental in building relationships with successful families who want to Take the Long View. His experience balancing growth with high-touch service puts him in an ideal position to help lead HIG into the future.

“My time at HIG has given me a perspective that few people are fortunate enough to have, and I’m ready to pay it forward,” says PJ. “We’ve always had big visions, and now we have the team in place to make it all happen.”

This month we celebrated the work anniversaries of Buddy Reisinger (12 years) and Katie Ackerman (6 years).

Buddy’s decade-plus with HIG makes him a truly committed member of the team. He’s known not just for his tenure at the firm but also for his fun-loving personality and 24/7 access.  The “Bud Man” is an original, and we love him.

Katie is the first voice our clients hear on the phone and is as thoughtful in serving our team as she is with our clients. Her sense of humor, hospitality, and witty teasing are some of the essential ingredients that make HIG feel like “Cheers.”

2020 was certainly a memorable year. For our holiday message, each member of our team shared their own takeaway or sentiment from this year. 

An additional HIGhlight for us is that Nell Schiffer’s husband, Walter, was accepted into to the cardiology fellowship program at WashU, meaning she gets to stay in STL for at least 3-4 more years! Please join us in congratulating them both.
