In Sherrie’s role as Executive Assistant, she is the warm voice on the phone and the friendly face at every event. She keeps the trains running on time and has fun while she’s at it, allowing the team to stay focused on their respective tasks. At Hill Investment Group, the Executive Assistant role is crucial to our firm operating at our peak, and Sherrie pushes us all up that Hill.
Eight Years and Growing
I began working in this industry eight years ago as a receptionist. That’s when I joined Emerald Spectrum (which merged with Hill in 2022). Over time, my responsibilities have evolved into organizing various client events at our Nashville office and managing our client appreciation program. I support the office and enjoy meeting our client’s needs, exceeding their expectations, and helping them be a part of our extended family.
I majored in art and music in college but chose to focus on raising my three children as my early career. Nowadays, I enjoy attending flag football games and watching my grandsons play. With over 25 years of experience in administrative support for banking, trust, and business licensing, I have honed my skills in these areas. I live in Brentwood with my husband, John, and I enjoy singing in my church choir, playing the ukulele, and volunteering and fundraising for several charities.
Family Matters
Above everything in my life, I am most proud of my children. Being a parent and grandparent is as good as it gets!
Community Involvement
It’s truly satisfying to work in the service of others. Here are a few of my favorite ways to help: Habitat for Humanity, Raise the Roof, and Fifty-Forward Meals on Wheels Golf Scramble
Memorable Trip
My first airplane ride to Chicago in 1978. I was a sophomore in high school and it was the first time I was away from my family outside of Tennessee. It felt so good!

What Inspires Me
I greatly admire musicians, songwriters, and poets for their passion and talent in their craft. When I perform, I can make their words and music my own. Music has the power to transcend all boundaries.
I enjoy hiking as it allows me to reflect in peace, away from the noise and distractions of daily life.
People I Admire
My high school choir director pushed me to be my best even before I fully comprehended my talents. He demanded excellence from me and helped me realize my potential.
When my parents separated, my grandmother took in my mother and me. She was always there for us and set a great example as an independent woman. Her strength inspired me when I became a single parent, motivating me to do whatever it takes to keep moving forward.
Men and women who dedicate their lives and service to protecting our country.
What I Like Most About My Job
I love my job because it allows me to be myself and positively impact our clients.

My First Job
During my first job at Baskin Robbins at 13, I gained valuable knowledge. I learned that the faces on paper currency always face left, how to count change back to customers, and that ice cream cakes are decorated in the deep freeze. I learned to balance my checkbook to save for my first 10-speed bike. Additionally, I learned to avoid babysitting for the boss’s children.
Overall, the experience provided me with a sense of independence and control that still hasn’t melted to this day.
