Friends Describe Me As
Observant, honest, competitive, quiet (at first), and genuine.
They will also tell you that I will likely talk about sports at some point. I enjoy watching all sports, but I prefer watching the St. Louis Cardinals and all local Nashville teams.
Family Life
I have been married to my wife, Morgan, since July 2021. Morgan and I are high school sweethearts. We are very close to our extended family and deeply cherish those relationships. We often make trips back to where we grew up in Madisonville, Kentucky.
First Job and Its Influence
Just after high school graduation in Kentucky, I started as a seasonal teller at a small community bank. I was immediately challenged to come out of my shell and figure out how to take care of customers. My bank teller experience helped me develop a passion for helping others and would lead me to forge a path I never thought I would take.
College/Mindset
As a sophomore in college, I found myself at a true crossroads. I was still undecided on my major and had no clue what I wanted my future to look like. I talked to a few friends, and one recommended looking into what he was pursuing: Personal Financial Planning.
My very first class, Applied Investments, was my introduction to investing. My professors, whom I came to learn so much from, introduced me to a new way of thinking that helped me understand planning in a new light. These professors helped me discover my “why” about entering the field as a profession. A common thread throughout these lessons was that there was always evidence behind what I was learning.
I am thankful I am with a firm with the same mindset to embrace the data and evidence and “Take the long view.”
